Pulley Point
I participated in the Pulley Point race on Eric Mack's Tartan 10, Xiphius (aka See Ya Later). We and half the fleet finshed only minutes from the 9 hour time limit, as an evening breeze kicked up at sundown and sped everyone home.

Tri-Island/Tri-Point Race #2, Three Tree Point, Vashon Island
Swiftsure 2001
I participated in my first Swiftsure aboard Steve Johnson's fine Cookson 12m, White Cloud.
We sailed the Exhibition Race, and took first in class.
Tri-Island/Tri-Point Race #3, Blakely Rocks
Orcrist didnt go out for the Blakely Race.
Leukemia Cup
As is typical, its either light air on the Sound, or its screaming. For most of the Spring we've been experiencing mild conditions, but the day Leukemia Cup rolled around, the winds were wipping along at 20-25 knots. We had a green crew of about 6 for this Saturday-only series of PHRF bouy racing.
Vashon Challenge Doublehanded race
Dave Garman and I sailed Giant Slayer, while Dan Jordan and Summer Locke sailed Orcrist in this year's Vashon Challenge. A frustratingly light air day, of the 30 starters, only 8 finished, and neither Giant Slayer nor Orcrist were among those 8.
Bridge To Bridge 2001
I helped Stan Perkins' tank of a SC27, Mirage, take first in this years

Foulweather Bluff
Orcrist sailed the Foulweather Bluff race on a picture perfect day. It was the first race for Liz and Nancy. We were too light for the 18 knots of air around Pt No Pt, and the sail change hurt us dearly. Trying to keep up with War Canoe, was, in fact, impossible for everyone else, too.
PSSC
Day 1 was pretty long, with 5 starts first in an Easterly, then clocking South. Despite gear failure (torn spin race 1, used chicken kite rest of day), we did OK. We borrowed 38D's 98 nats #1 genoa to see what it was like, and it did pretty well. We were still back of the fleet, but felt pretty good Saturday. Day 2, Sunday we had a tougher time in the strong Northerly, and didnt read the course right in the rhird race, to take a DNF.

Gran Prix
I got a chance to sail bouys on Lunchbox during Gran Prix, which is a gathering of the "best of the best" for the year's racing. Lunchbox gamely kept up with Chuck Queen on Barnstormer all day, but we couldnt come out ahead against Midsummer or XS. Very close racing!
