I caught the sailing bug in 1997 and 1998 when I sailed Duck Dodges on too-slow boats, tooled around on a Hobie 14, and crewed on an Olson30 for a year. In 1999 I bought a half ownership my own Olson30, Orcrist. Things just escalated from there, to having incredible sailing years in 2002 and 2003 and burning out in 2004 and 2005. Selling the Olson, having children, then having sailing slowly rekindle in 2008 and suddenly I'm sailing Pacific Cup on Rage! The friends one makes sailing and the lessons one learns are always epic in nature. These are some select race reports from those days....
