The village of Dobbiaco

We discovered the Dolomite mountains of Italy in 2001, and loved it so much that we went back in 2002. If I could have anything I wanted, it would probably be to live in the Alps. Fortunately for them, this isn't very easy to achieve! [ed - I wrote that 5 years ago, now I do live there. I moved trips in the Alps to their own page here.]

This page includes trips outside of the U.S. and the European continent. At this time it includes Canada and England.

The Bugaboos
Mark, Robert and I spent almost a week here in August 2003. It's one of the best places for alpine climbing in the world, and we had (pretty) good weather so we could tear the place up!

Mt. Sir Donald
Part of the same trip as the Bugaboos, but useful to seperate it. We climbed the Northeast Arete, one of the "50 Classic Climbs of North America." It was classic all right!

Slesse Mountain, Northeast Buttress (V, 5.9)
A super rock climb with Theron and Aidan.

The Brecon Beacons, Wales
A great day hike in Wales.

Matriarch-Grimface Traverse (III, 5.7)
Kris and I stayed at Cathedral Lakes Lodge for several days, and I went for a fun solo climb of this granite ridge traverse.
