I would like to foremost extend my congratulations to the both of you on your newest additions to the Stanton family! When are we going to get more pictures of the boys?
I would like to say that you have wasted much of my worktime with your detailed trip reports. You have aspired me to become a better mountaineer with your detailed reports. Thankyou for taking the time to detail your adventures, it has done me and most likely countless others much a service. Hell, even Jeff Smoot credited you in his book! Michael I can only wish to scramble/climb with someone such as yourself (with the added bonus of someone who could keep me alive during the duration too) in the future. I hope to see reports from you outlining those day trips with your boys. Thanks again for all your work... It does and has made a difference!

Kris and Michael -
What a lovely site you have put together! I've been trying to find an e-mail address for Kris, but there doesn't seem to be one posted anywhere! Anyway, I would like to ask permission of Miss Kris for use of one of her photographs (credited, of course!) on my Endangered Species page - the lovely portrait of Melati the orangutan at Woodland Park Zoo, to be exact! You may, of course, take a look around my website if you'd like. In the photo credit, I'd include Melati's name, the location, copyright+date, and of course your name and a link to your website.

It's very cool to have found your page! I grew up in Woodinville on Mink Road in the Cottage Lake area and have only recently moved to Redmond. Hello to fellow Woodinvillites! ^_^

Do you, perchance, have any more zoo photographs? Not for me to use - just to look at. I have a stash of Woodland Park Zoo photos on my computer that I've seen at various people's websites. I'm especially fond of the orangutans, gorillas, and siamangs. But anyway, enough about me!

In short, I loved your site, so thank you for the experience!

Hello, Just read about your trip up Eaglecreek located above Bonniville Dam. Back in the forties, my brother, a friend, and I made many fishing trip up Eaglecreek. Usually hiked about 7 miles before beginning our fishing. Your article brought back these fun memories to me. I'm now 74 and would love to hike at least to the Punchbowl sometime with my brother. However, he lives in Readmond. WA so it is unlikely we will both be in Oregon at the same time. I did make this hike by myself 10 or 15 years ago and I can't tell you how enjoyable it was. Nice to get off the flat and nearly treeless lands of West Texas. Really love Oregon, but probably couldn't take the rain like I did my first 25 years of life growing up in Oregon (Troutdale was my home). Just happened tonight to think of Eaglecreek, so did a search and your article was the first I found. Well, I won't ramble any more, but thanks for bringing back old memories. I have saved your web site which looks very interesting. Bye. Jerry Matches

Regarding your North Twin Sister West Ridge visions of a green orb: Back in the early 80's, I often had such experiences. Occasionally, usually in hot weather, the orb was more turquoise than just green. Eventually I came to realize the phenomenon was due to my underwear being too tight. Ever since, I've just done without. In addition, while climbing, I now prefer to wear a kilt. I find my climbing partners really appreciate the change in me and have remarked at how well I lead. I invite you to experience true freedom. No more green orbs for me, kilts are the way to climb!

I will not nor will I make an attempt to quantify or describe the waves of apathy and insignificance that I feel towards the world or populace at large. We all live in a reality of our own making. People wander around in a dull-eyed bovine daze unaware of the gift of consciousness that has been bestowed upon us. Why are we considered the top of the food chain when we as a species are incapable of managing ourselves? We have taken up a miniscule amount of time on the galactic timeline yet we are bound and determined to make it the end of said timeline. I rant I rave I writhe on the floor. I stoop I posture I gesticulate at the door. You are only as proud as your next impending doom allows you to be. Huzzah.

I read your Mt. Hood story - pretty good, especially frr a nerd! But you know, Kris' site is much better - she has got a lot of pictures, and for my puny mind, look'n at de pitters is funner dan reedin. Really though, your site is pretty good- lots of things to do and easy to get around. I knew you were a rock jock, I don't know you were so accomplished in these other maters as well. Tally hooo... mdc

Hey, Them pictures is awsome! I like all dat snow and rock stuff, and them what ya call um? oh yeah, hiker guys are hotties! bout them illuses, I not sure what your trien to do but my eyes have seen the glory! A chicken is a chicken, but a cold cut...that's somethin else! Ya ought ta make a picture book of your adventures;you could call it "how I broke myself" That brings me to them stories: what in the hell is a 5.3a thingy wacker? Your nomanclayture is spongefully regret'ble! some uv hus dont knoo all dim mountain climmy things- ya needs a break it down section. Overall I enjoyed tha chance to peer into you demise(that sorta means dyun dont it?) Love and kisses to kris and your foxie self, JamesnevermindIfounditBrown P.S. Oh yea! tell kris that her site is much better than yours- maybe I shuld have not said that...opps?!

Wow! I can be the first one to sign this book! Michael, I'm really impressed with your adventures. You've managed to become a skillful climber in your short time here in the northwest. You did this while continuing to build your computer career too. I'm looking forward to your future trip reports. Hop fully we can go hiking together again sometime.
