A few more things

I forgot to mention in yesterday’s post a couple of things. First, the boys have been on some kind of growth spurt because they have been eating a lot, A LOT! Rowan’s favorite word is “mo!” He likes to bring his empty bowl into the kitchen and say “mo! mo!” Especially with cereal. They used to just play with it and throw it around, so I give them little bits at a time. I’ve had to really increase it the past few days because Rowan always comes back for seconds, thirds, fourths and fifths! What really happens is that when he gets more, Elijah trades bowls with him so then he has to come back again. Sometimes I’m like “there’s no way you ate all that” and then I go out and inspect if they just were throwing it around and sure enough, no food is to be found. I’m sure years from now I’ll find a “food pit” somewhere in the house filled with cheerios, pretzels and sandwich pieces. It really is shocking at how much they can eat and how fast. And they’re only 2, geez!

The other thing is that now they can lift their own butts when changing diapers so we no longer have to grab them by the ankles and lift them up with one hand while we position a diaper with the other. They were getting really too heavy for that. So now when we change diapers, I just pat them on their bottoms and say up and they lift up with their legs. It’s so awesome! Such a little thing can make a big difference. And they also think it’s a game so diaper changes hasn’t been too much of a fight lately.

They also can throw their diapers away, put dishes and what not in the sink, get their own forks and/or spoons.

Rowan likes to say “buh-bye” (not “bye bye”) and leave a room. It always cracks me up.

Hi there! Tom has always said that the reason children survive is that they’re so cute (think about humans, kittens, puppies, etc!). Well, I think it’s because they are always creating quick steps that we have to follow or figure out - but, yes, they’re adorable too. I think your boys are truly on a growth spurt and quite simply hungry. It’s a good time to introduce new foods they might not have liked before….Love, Gram
