December Hyalite Ice

Robert and I made the very short hike to some ice climbs in the Amphitheater area of Hyalite. Robert led three pitches, and I top-roped all of them. First time on ice in many years...it's taking time but I hope to become fluent again!

Snoochie looked quite thin, yellow ice over black rock, but it didn't feel that difficult. I had a harder time on Switchback Falls, hammering away at placements and knocking off dinner plates!
Thin Chance was fun, over in an area with many other folks nearby.
I didn't have any ice clippers on my harness, so racking a screw was really tough. I pretty much had to use two hands...
