White Mountain

Arjun had recommended a hike up White Mountain, one of the high peaks of California, near the famous bristlecone pine trees in the White Mountains.

I enjoyed this hike very much. It was a long drive to the trailhead. I was worried I'd bake in the heat but it is very high, and this didn't happen. Here are some pics:

Two days later (July 27) I did an easy hike on Mammoth Mountain above the town of Mammoth Lakes. Here are a couple of pictures from that:
